My blog got quiet during the end of my time in China.  For one thing, I was much busier with traveling.  And when traveling, I didn’t bring my computer, so I had no VPN.  I went to amazing places like these:

HuiZhou Daguling, Huangshan SheXian, Huangshan ZhuHai, YiXian DaGuLing, YiXian ZhuHai, YiXian 20130723_143854 LaoShan, Qingdao

I was engaged in Chinese conversation pretty much all day long (while in Hawaii, I accidentally spoke to Zora in Chinese).  Anyways, this was exactly the kind of experience I have always wanted to have.  True language immersion.

I also played a lot of ukulele:

Other than being busy, I wasn’t eager to post about my life on the Internet because, beginning in March, I had a lot of people (without invitation) minding my business, and I became much more concerned about privacy.  So, I kind of enjoyed opting to keep private the things I could control, and thus, my blog got quiet.

I don’t think this is over, though.  I do have some reflections, and I will post them gradually.  In the mean time, I guess I will announce my intention to start a new blog about my next “big thing.”  And that thing is med school.  I think I want to post random interesting things I learn either about medical education or medicine or… well, whatever comes up.  That blog will be: rcnotyetmd
